Our moose hunts take place in the remote regions of northern Alberta Canada along the Peace River.  We hunt the river, marsh flats, natural mineral licks and back channels where moose grow to trophy size.

The moose hunting areas are only accessible by ATV’s, boat and hiking.  With little resident hunting pressure, excellent moose habitat, and careful management of the moose population, the moose in this area grow to trophy size, with average 30 to 50″ antler spread.

Our goal at Top Notch Adventures is for hunters to harvest a minimum 30″ moose, which will allow smaller moose a chance to grow to trophy size.  Seeing a moose come in to a cow call during our rut is exhilarating, and with patience, you will have an excellent opportunity to bring home a trophy Canada moose.

CHOOSE TOP NOTCH FOR YOUR CANADA MOOSE HUNT

Our rut moose hunts are based out of our main lodge, but we have the option to set up spike camp if you choose. From the main lodge we set out early morning by 4×4 trucks to the remote areas we will be hunting.  We use boats to hunt for trophy moose along the river and UTV’s and ATV’s when hunting from tree stands overlooking natural mineral licks, along river flats and marshes.  Hunters can expect to hike a couple of miles a day or we can arrange to have ATV’s if you are not able to walk far distances.

Your guide will use his knowledge of the area to find the best spots and call in trophy bull into shooting range.  The areas we hunt and method of hunting will give you an excellent opportunity to take home your Canada moose.

Day to day moose hunting generally includes hunting from sunrise to sunset.  
We running trail cameras so we can see where the trophy bulls travel and feed.
Our moose hunts run for 6 days from Monday to Saturday but longer hunts can be arranged.
Hunters can use rifle, bow, or crossbow on these moose hunts.
To maintain the quality and quantity of trophy class moose, hunters should harvest a minimum 30″ moose, which will allow smaller moose a chance to grow to trophy size.

ARCHERY MOOSE HUNTS

BOOK AN ARCHERY MOOSE HUNT

This spot & stalk  hunt is based from our four bedroom lodge. We can also setup spike camps if you prefer a more remote experience. From the lodge, we take our 4×4 trucks and head out to our prime moose habitat. Using UTV’s, ATV’s or boats we start early morning searching for feeding areas and travel routes near creeks, rivers and low marshes. Once a moose is spotted we will then try to get within range for a clean bow kill.

Archery Season runs from August 25 thru 31.
Most shots range between 20 to 60 yards.
During these moose bow hunts, you will not see any other hunters as we hunt very remote areas.
This is an excellent opportunity to harvest a P&Y moose with antlers still in velvet.
You can add a spot & stalk or baited black bear hunt to the archery moose hunts if you are looking for a chance at harvesting two Alberta trophies.
